Corona was a hard break. But it has also shown how flexibly and quickly companies have reacted to the new situation. For many, this forced reset also has something good in it and has opened up new perspectives. We wanted to know how our member companies got through the crisis and what long-term trends they expect.
MUCH WILL REMAIN
With the beginning of the pandemic, we at R+S Automotive, like many other companies, faced great challenges. In addition to the worries about the health of the employees and their families, there was the business task of how we could continue to handle our international machine and tool projects under more difficult communication conditions, without business trips, assembly and commissioning at our locations in Bocholt, the Czech Republic, China and the USA in the usual quality.
In line with our corporate vision and mission "Passion and performance for a better life" I "Safe and smart - together" - we managed to increase VPN access within a very short period of time so that all employees were able to work mobile from home. In addition, the introduction of Microsoft Teams at the beginning of 2020 proved to be the perfect communication tool in these times. Working methods such as initial talks with customers, design meetings and start-ups via video conference, which would have been almost impossible before the pandemic, are now "normal everyday life" and will continue to be so in many cases in the future.
- Virtual communication tools are very well suited for project meetings, but we still look forward to face-to-face interactions with our partners
- Employees benefit from a modern and efficient working environment due to the elimination of long travel distances
- Reduction of our CO2 footprint through limited business travel
